Overview
It is globally acknowledged that the measurable mental wellbeing of children and young people has declined in recent years. This is especially the case in Australia with data demonstrating that the number of young people reporting a decline in their mental wellbeing is at historically high levels. The reasons for this are complex but include a range of developmental, environmental, social and technological drivers. These issues intersect for children and young people to create a context in which healthy connection, optimism and hope are easily eroded. Despite this, there are many emerging reforms, ideas, communities, services and technologies that promise to contribute to improving the wellbeing of children and young people.
TheMHS Forum 2025 will examine the intersections between many of the contributing and alleviating factors and will feature prominent and grass roots people who are making a difference in areas such as research, lived experience, young people led initiatives, service delivery innovation and technology development. There will be a rich programme of ideas and discussions, with much of this determined and led by youth convenors and speakers.
