Biography
Bill Campos is experienced mental health professional, and prominent leader in the areas of community and digital mental health services in Australia. He is a senior clinical psychologist and CEO of Independent Community Living Australia (ICLA), a non-profit organization that provides mental health, disability, aged care and homelessness support services across NSW and digitally across Australia.
A former mental health consultant to NSW Health – Transcultural mental health centre and executive at a Primary health network (PHN) and a previous advisor to Commonwealth Department of health in the evaluation of the Headspace Early Psychosis program.
Bill is currently an advisor the Australian Digital health agency, NSW Mental health commission and non-executive director at the Mental Health Coordinating Council. He is also presently an adjunct fellow for Macquarie University.
At western Sydney, PHN Bill led the implementation with the Sax institute and Brain and Mind Center at the University of Sydney, to implement of a dynamic simulation model of a regional suicide decision support tool, to inform and operationalize more responsive and effective suicide prevention services.
With a personal lived experience approach to mental health care and driven to deliver quality outcomes for people with diverse needs, complex mental health and psychosocial disabilities. Bill is driven to develop proactive and innovative approaches to care that enhance the mental health and wellbeing of individuals, families, carers, and communities in need.
Over 20 years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist, and over a decade, in the executive and leadership roles of mental health and social services. Bill has clinical psychology skills and experience in the oversight of population health, management of complex services delivery and developing policy and research relating to digital mental health services and data informed reforms and performance for mental health care.
