Featured Symposium: Aligning the evidence into action - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ Mental Health

Abstract

In this symposium you will hear from and engage with eminent Leadership in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health space. It provides a unique gathering for the audience to understand the critical issues and considered approaches to moving forward as a nation in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health, suicide prevention and social and emotional wellbeing context. The speakers, including Keynote Speaker Pat Dudgeon, will bring a unique indigenous perspective to some of the key issues and reports such as the National Mental Health Commission Report (2015), The National Strategic Framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ Mental Health and Social and Emotional Wellbeing 2014-19; Second Edition of Working Together: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health and Wellbeing Principles and Practice; The Wharerata Declaration and the establishment of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Leadership in Mental Health.
